Current Happenings

12 '11 Vocal coach Linda Jones worked with me to refine some of my current accents and dialects. She has set me to the task of a comparative study of Australian and New Zealand! Crikey dingo!

11 '11   Received Best Actress in a Musical (non-equity) Nomination for Company at Broadway World.com/Maryland. 8-)

7 '11  Company received some lovely reviews!  Read for yourself!

Broadway World.com Company Review

"Elaine Stritch in the original cast belted out the famous  "The Ladies Who Lunch".

Deborah Desmone as Joanne nails this number. I got goose bumps."

6'11  Company opened last weekend. One more weekend to go.

Working on my audiobook demo content. Took a studio class to learn about gates and limiters. Took a character acting class  for voice over to learn how to portray laughter, grunting, crying, screaming, and running--all without saying a word.

3'11   Did a comparative study of Scots and Irish dialects for my last session with Linda Jones. Dead brilliant!

3'11 Just cast in the role of Joanne in Company at Phoenix Festival Theatre. No pressure or anything! Hmmmm.....my 3rd Sondheim show in a row...I'm sensing a pattern.......

2 '11  Classes with Carol Monda, Jay Snyder, and Linda Jones going well. Have begun gathering content for my audiobook demo and learning Scots and Irish dialects.

1.1.11  Have begun private instruction with coaches at Edge with an eye toward an audiobook demo. Studying specific skills for creating audiobooks and characters and acquiring a mess o' dialects and accents. And I am having fun!

9.21.10 Sweeney Todd had a great run. Very receptive audiences. Hardest show I've ever done. Bruises to prove it! I'm really proud of my work in this one.

Review from Examiner.com

Currently in a production of Sweeney Todd as Mrs. Lovett at Phoenix Festival Theatre in Belair, Md. Opens Sept 10.

11.1.09-- I've been in charge of the liturgical readers at Holy Trinity for about 5 years now. This past Sunday afternoon, I led a workshop to refresh the skills of the current crop of readers, and to add in a new person to the roster. It went very well, everyone pushing themselves a little bit, to increase their storytelling skills. Deacon Mark Nelson states he has received a lot of feedback from visitors to our church, who have visited from all over the east coast, that we have some of the best liturgical readers they've ever heard.

Sept '09--Voiced a video trailer for Clarrie Hancock, a new book by Eve Rizzo for G.W. Zouck Publishing. Had to have a crash course in a Salford, England dialect for that one. Met some cool lads from Manchester, England in the process.
